“Self-Awareness at Its Greatest Heights”

· Self-Improvement,Coaching,Results,Career Development,Perspective

In the expression, “I lost my head for a moment”, it’s possible that for that one brief moment, you stopped thinking rationally and instead are responding emotionally. These feelings may be of irritation, anxiety, or confusion, but soon you hopefully pop back into self-awareness.

With my coaching clients, I strive towards moments of their self-awareness; moments where they can be clear of anything that may be blocking them. This awareness helps them to create a space for their greatest potential, for achieving results. It exists on multiple levels and often with many layers, like an onion being peeled to its core. This awareness allows them to understand their feelings about issues in their environment, some that are interpersonal but mostly those that are intrapersonal. The latter are where things are affecting them based on previous perceptions, previous awareness. Being aware allows us to see things as they truly are and with clearer perception.

Throughout our days, we are affected by many different stimuli from the calmness of sleep or meditation to very taxing ones coming from many different directions. When we have heightened levels of self-awareness, such as a focused actor or a training athlete, we can accomplish more than we could imagine.

How would this be helpful to you?

“Self-awareness is a trait - or maybe 'practice' is the more accurate way to put it - that everyone can always improve at. It is part emotional intelligence, part perceptiveness, part critical thinking. It means knowing your weaknesses, of course, but it also means knowing your strengths and what motivates you.” - Neil Blumenthal
