Planting Seeds

· Goal Setting,Results

Having been in business since 1999 (incorporation anniversary was yesterday), there is one thing that I have learned over and over again. Growing and maintaining a business is all about taking care of your garden. Like any gardener or farmer knows, not everything is going to bloom. It’s all about building relationships, sincerity, integrity and a good product or service. Having met many people over the years, I have found that some people really live this philosophy but some do not.

A few years back, I had a coaching client who thought, that in order to grow her business, she just needed to keep planting and planting and planting new seeds all the time. Of course, one needs to plant but it’s also important to tend to the soil, the fertilizer and provide water. In other words, nurture all relationships, existing ones may lead to referrals. What better compliment than to have someone else toot your horn for you! Update, that coaching client left what she was doing, obviously feeling unsuccessful, and is doing something completely different. Maybe she wasn’t a good gardener.

Sow an action, reap a habit;

Sow a habit, reap a character;

Sow a character, reap a destiny….”
