Alyssa Milano, first became famous as a child starring in “Who’s The Boss?” from 1984-1992 and then in “Charmed” from 1998-2006, and she is still acting. She used her celebrity to play a pivotal role in launching the #MeToo movement by using her platform to amplify the voices of survivors of sexual harassment and assault. In October 2017, she tweeted, "If you've been sexually harassed or assaulted write 'me too' as a reply to this tweet". This call to action sparked a massive outpouring of stories and created a movement that brought significant attention to the issue.
Sadly, with all the awareness raised and the training provided by employers; instances of workplace harassment are still high. The shift to many working remotely or in a hybrid schedule, the issues remain. And as we know with anything this personal, and the difficulties there may be in proving negative experiences, the incidents are easily under reported. Employers and employees alike must remain vigilant, vocal and investigate any allegation as they impact morale, engagement and ultimately, productivity.
Prevention is the best defense for workplace harassment. Our Harassment Prevention Training Program, available both live and virtually, meets the mandated requirements in seven U.S. states and Washington, D.C. We keep the content regularly updated to ensure it remains current and relevant.
