There’s No “I” in TEAM

· Goal Setting,Team Work,Results,Performance

Our culture tends to emphasize the contributions of the individual and while these should not be ignored, the efforts of the team as a group with the varying contributions are important, too. Sometimes, they are just as or even more important.

We tend to idolize the one instead of the many; the charismatic head of the company or the star quarterback forgetting that some of the greatest human achievements were accomplished by so many working as a team – the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Ancient Egypt, space exploration, all the results of a collective effort.

A team of individuals working together consists of many individuals with varying work styles and different perspectives. Many leaders know that a balanced team is most effective. Knowing how to lead a team to its greatest potential is often not completely understood.

"No one can whistle a symphony.

It takes a whole orchestra to play it." – H.E. Luccock
