Phone-a-Friend

· Networking,Communication

The idea is simple. Pick up the phone and call someone who hasn't heard your voice for way-too-long. We all get busy in life, and sometimes it's easy to forget about the people we’ve known for years but just haven't connected with lately. So this is your chance to let that long-lost friend or family member know that you still think about them and want to get back in touch.

And with COVID still in our midst, this would also apply to our colleagues at work. When we're all at work in person, we have opportunities to connect informally - short chats, cubicle drop-ins, coffee or lunch together. Working remotely has made this impossible, so perhaps a call just to connect would strengthen work relationships.

As always, we can spread some good will by surprising someone whom you haven't talked to in a while. Then, perhaps, it might motivate them to do the same. After all, this is the season of sharing, so go out there and start spreading the holiday spirit!

"Communication to a relationship is like oxygen is to life. Without it, it dies." - Tony A. Gaskins, Jr.
