Giving praise is an issue that often comes up with the supervisors, managers and leaders that I coach. Every day, people help others from the simplest gesture to the “I couldn’t have done it without you”. But how often do we say “thank you”? Stop for a moment and think about what it feels like being the recipient of that phrase from a colleague, a direct report, a manager or even a personal friend. Now think about how you can show your appreciation to someone else.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our faithful readers in the USA!

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it

is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”

– William Arthur Ward
