“When” Not “If”

· Goal Setting,Communication,Expectations,Mindset

When we use the word “if” in our vocabulary, we are bringing in the possibility of non-occurrence and this has a foundation in doubt. When you are speaking or simply thinking about what you want, consider choosing the word “when” instead.

It’s a simple difference but look at the impact of the use of the latter rather than the former.

When I have that.

When this comes.

When I do this.

When I am there.

When this happens.

The word implies that it is going to occur rather than offering the possibility that it may not. It empowers the possibility, encourages the existence.

Consider your language and it will bring you confidence to what you want to materialize in your environment.

"When your intention is clear, so is the way." - Alan Cohen
