• COMPANY HISTORY

    1999: The Sky’s The Limit Consulting, Inc. (TSTLC) was incorporated as a consulting firm focusing in the area of human resource development. With professional experiences in the healthcare, government, nonprofit and public education sectors, Joshua began his company by facilitating personally customized and pre-developed training programs on a wide range of topics to various organizations.


    2001: TSTLC began adding individual and groups as executive coaching clients.

     

    2001: Joshua served as President of the Southwest Florida Chapter of American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) from January through May. Having served as President in 1998, he returned to assist the Chapter during a transition period.

     

    2003: TSTLC went international when Joshua facilitated a program on Diversity and Inclusion for French-Canadians in Toronto, Canada.

     

    2004: TSTLC marked 5 years in business since its incorporation in July 1999.

     

    2006: Joshua earned the Certified DiSC® Trainer designation from Inscape Publishing, now John Wiley & Sons (of which TSTLC is a distributor of their many fine learning products).

     

    2007: TSTLC launched its own program on Performance Management targeted to small and medium-sized employers.

     

    2007: The National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce® (NGLCC) originally certified TSTLC as an LGBT Business Enterprise® (LGBTBE). With each re-certification cycle, TSTLC submits newly required data for review; we remain current.

     

    2009: TSTLC marked 10 years in business since its incorporation in July 1999. TSTLC facilitated another training program internationally, this time on the DiSC® Behavioral Theory in Guadalajara, Mexico. Joshua began coaching an individual who resides and works in Mexico.

     

    2010: Joshua originally earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI), formerly affiliated with The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). He remains current with each three-year re-certification cycle which requires continuous professional development credits.

     

    2010: Using desktop sharing technology, TSTLC began offering virtual training to end-users both nationally and globally. TSTLC expanded its services into South America when Joshua began coaching an individual who resides and works in Brazil.

     

    2010: The Human Resource Management Association (HRMA), now SHRM SWFL, appointed Joshua to the Diversity Chair on the Board of Directors.

     

    2010: Joshua began supporting his two local SHRM Chapters as a Certification Study Group Facilitator; HR Collier (2010-2014, 2016-2020) and SHRM-SWFL (2011-2016)

     

    2012: Joshua completed the necessary qualification credits to earn re-certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), originally earned in 2010. The re-certification credits were obtained within two years, one year before the required three year qualification period by attending numerous continuing education programs, serving as a committee chair or committee member and as a facilitator of certification study groups for both SHRM chapters in which he is an active member.

     

    2014: TSTLC marked 15 years in business since its incorporation in July 1999. To celebrate, TSTLC facilitated several pro bono Success Teams (group coaching) to local entrepreneurs affiliated with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) in Fort Myers.

     

    2015: Joshua originally earned his second certification in Human Resources, the Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM–SCP). He remains current with each three-year re-certification cycle which requires continuous professional development credits.

     

    2016: TSTLC launched a new more interactive website including our new blog. A listing of services and organizations served (including a U.S. map), recorded interviews on Coaching and Performance Management, and an archive of blog entries were some of the upgraded features.

     

    2017: Joshua began supporting HR Collier as the Assistant Certification Chair (2017-2020)

     

    2018: HR Collier, a SHRM chapter, elected Joshua as the SHRM Foundation Chair on the Board of Directors

     

    2019: TSTLC marked 20 years in business since its incorporation in July 1999. TSTLC launched its "20 in '19" program.

     

    2020: TSTLC launched self-paced online learning programs; with two initial courses on Harassment Prevention Training.

     

    2020: To support so many during the COVID-19 pandemic, TSTLC created a webinar to assist people coping with the changes in the workplace. We facilitated more than 20 pro bono one-hour webinars for SHRM (Human Resource Chapters), NGLCC Affiliate Chambers, across the US, and other business groups.

     

    2020: TSTLC expanded its services into Europe when Joshua began coaching individuals who reside and work in the United Kingdom.

     

    2021: In response to the very popular Working From Home program offered in 2020, TSTLC created a new program to benefit both HR professionals and supervisors within their organizations: “Out of Sight Yet Still Virtually Productive: Effectively Managing Employee Performance During COVID-19.

     

    2021: Joshua earned the Certified Everything DiSC® Trainer from John Wiley & Sons (adding new learning products to our capabilities).

     

    2022: Building on the foundation of DiSC®, TSTLC began offering training sessions on Agile Emotional Intelligence.

     

    2022: This year we began focusing on coaching Emerging Leaders / Potential Leaders. Individuals who can complement their technical expertise with more effective People Skills are better prepared for leadership opportunities once they become available with their employer.

     

    2023: We facilitated several pro bono one-hour webinars on Agile Emotional Intelligence for SHRM (Human Resource Chapters) across the US. In May, we presented this program as a keynote speaker for KHRMA (the Kalamazoo Human Resources Management Association) Annual Day of Development.

     

    2024: TSTLC marked 25 years in business since its incorporation in July 1999. TSTLC launched its "Silver in '24" program in gratitude; aiming to empower individuals with vital skills and knowledge for their personal and professional growth.
